Danica Roem, a lifelong Manassas resident and community journalist, is running in the Democratic primary for the 13th District of the Virginia House of Delegates in order to unseat Del. Bob Marshall (R) and finally fix Route 28.
As a 32-year-old step-mom and the first transgender person ever to run for the Virginia General Assembly, Danica is focusing her campaign on transportation, economic development and education, all while working to make Virginia a more inclusive commonwealth, one where we value innovation over discrimination.
Danica spent more than nine years writing the news in the 13th District as the lead reporter for the Gainesville Times from 2006-2015. Her platform includes fixing Route 28, bringing high-paying jobs to Innovation Technology Park and raising teacher salaries in Prince William County and Manassas Park so they’re not the lowest in Northern Virginia.
